Giancarlo Mattioli and Gruppo Architetti Urbanisti Città Nuova
Giancarlo Mattioli (1933–2014) was an Italian architect and designer who, working with the collective Gruppo Architetti Urbanisti Città Nuova, designed the Nesso table lamp for Artemide in 1965, awarded the Compasso d'Oro the same year.The Nesso lamp, with its distinctive mushroom silhouette in moulded ABS plastic, became one of the most recognisable Italian lighting designs of the post-war period and remains in continuous production.
